17 weeks

November 20, 2007

Hey all!

Yes, I know it's been a while! This time of year can get pretty busy at work, so needless to say Derek and I have been running!

And our Little Turkey has been growing! I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow, already about 1/3 of the way through my 2nd trimester. It's funny, one minute I think this whole process is dragging on and on, but when you look at it that way, this baby will be here before you know it!

Big milestones since the last post: I am officially in maternity clothes! This past weekend, I finally gave up my pre-mommy jeans (I had no choice!) and wore a pair of maternity jeans my best friend Shannon loaned me. I now have 2 garbage bags full of clothes from her and Derek's sister Monica, so I think I'm set for a while. Thanks so much!

Our coworkers have all made the comments that I am showing now. There has been definite growth in the last 4 weeks and I am finally getting used to my little "pooch" there. No movement that I've noticed yet, but my doctor said that will probably come in the next 2 weeks or so. That should be interesting!

Still feeling good. Started with a little head cold in the last 2 days, but nothing major. Had my checkup yesterday and I'm still "easy" (as the doctors put it). Baby heart rate: 150 bpm...I guess CC is chillin' out this month. Heard it loud and clear though! Our next ultrasound is in 3 weeks, so start placing your bets on pink or blue. I just hope we get a clear picture on whatever it is!

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We really wish we could be with all of you. This time of year really makes us wish the drive was shorter. At least we had a mini-Thanksgiving with Derek's family in Monroe this past weekend. Great to see the family and how much all the kids have grown. Can't wait until we can add our own little one to that bunch!
Derek will be working without a day off until Dec. 1, so say a prayer for his sanity! I'll be home Thursday, probably putting up Xmas decorations and cooking a turkey breast, so pray for the cook too! It's not Daddy's gumbo, Cheesy Corn, Missisippi Mud Pie or Grandma's rolls, but it'll do! We'll be home for Christmas, so we're counting down the days! Love you and miss you all!
