IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

Okay! Now we can stop using "it!" We're having a girl!! First and foremost, the ultrasound today looked good...we have functoning kidneys, heart, and stomach. Brain looks good too. Those were the main things we wanted to see today, the rest was just a great bonus.
It was so wonderful to see all the detail...the spine, the chambers of the heart, the eyes, the nose, the fingers and toes. It really is a miracle. What really amazed us was how every little move I made or anytime I laughed, she moved too! The best part was when she waved "hi" to Mommy and Daddy!
She's defintely a coonass. She talks with her hands! They never stopped moving! She kicked her feet and scratched her nose, but there was one problem...she was being modest! Derek was very happy to see that. It took a few good pokes from the ultrasound tech to get her to open her little legs! Finally we got a look and the tech said that the 2 little lines were her little privates and there was nothing else to be found! So for the 7 of you who voted for a boy, you lose!!!
We are completely overjoyed with seeing the baby today, regardless of if it had been a him or her. It's a shame we can't have an ultrasound on every visit, because you could sit there all day and watch your little miracle moving and growing all the time. Thanks for all the phone calls and well wishes! Love you all!

Okay, it's tough to see, so I circled it! The 2 lines mean it's a girl! This picture is from the bottom looking up.

This is the profile of her face. If you follow the slope of her forehead, you see her nose, then her lips and chin.

Another profile of her face. You can see her nose and her hand scratching it. Can't tell if it's a Bourgeois or Martin nose yet!

The bottom of her foot. She's got a big Big Toe!

She's facing front on this one. Her head is on the right side and she's looks like she's giving a thumbs up with her right hand!

Happy Holidays, Ya'll!
Here are some of the lastest pics taken in front of our tree. Mommy, Daddy and CC are feeling good, especially after getting a bad virus over Thanksgiving weekend. Trust me, nobody would've wanted to be around us!
I can definitely say I am in the "Honeymoon Phase" of pregnancy...I'm feeling good and looking good!
4 more days until we found out if CC is a boy or girl!!! Be sure and place your bets on the poll on the upper right-hand corner!
By the way, say a special prayer for my cousin's little girl Chloe that her MRI will be all clear! Thanks! Love ya'll!

Happy Birthday Derek! 12/4/07

Happy 31st Birthday! (mmmm...Cake!!)

17 weeks

November 20, 2007

Hey all!

Yes, I know it's been a while! This time of year can get pretty busy at work, so needless to say Derek and I have been running!

And our Little Turkey has been growing! I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow, already about 1/3 of the way through my 2nd trimester. It's funny, one minute I think this whole process is dragging on and on, but when you look at it that way, this baby will be here before you know it!

Big milestones since the last post: I am officially in maternity clothes! This past weekend, I finally gave up my pre-mommy jeans (I had no choice!) and wore a pair of maternity jeans my best friend Shannon loaned me. I now have 2 garbage bags full of clothes from her and Derek's sister Monica, so I think I'm set for a while. Thanks so much!

Our coworkers have all made the comments that I am showing now. There has been definite growth in the last 4 weeks and I am finally getting used to my little "pooch" there. No movement that I've noticed yet, but my doctor said that will probably come in the next 2 weeks or so. That should be interesting!

Still feeling good. Started with a little head cold in the last 2 days, but nothing major. Had my checkup yesterday and I'm still "easy" (as the doctors put it). Baby heart rate: 150 bpm...I guess CC is chillin' out this month. Heard it loud and clear though! Our next ultrasound is in 3 weeks, so start placing your bets on pink or blue. I just hope we get a clear picture on whatever it is!

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We really wish we could be with all of you. This time of year really makes us wish the drive was shorter. At least we had a mini-Thanksgiving with Derek's family in Monroe this past weekend. Great to see the family and how much all the kids have grown. Can't wait until we can add our own little one to that bunch!
Derek will be working without a day off until Dec. 1, so say a prayer for his sanity! I'll be home Thursday, probably putting up Xmas decorations and cooking a turkey breast, so pray for the cook too! It's not Daddy's gumbo, Cheesy Corn, Missisippi Mud Pie or Grandma's rolls, but it'll do! We'll be home for Christmas, so we're counting down the days! Love you and miss you all!

October 29, 2007

Hi everybody! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Nothing much happening last week, so there was nothing to tell!
I went in for my every-4-week checkup last Wednesday. We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! The nurse said it was 167 beats per minute, and before you all start placing your bets I've already looked it up and there is no proof that a girl's heart rate is usually higher than a boy's!!! My doctor says I am a "textbook" pregnancy. I am officially into my 2nd trimester, my blood pressure is perfect, my weight is good (only 4 pounds gained so far..I can't believe it!), and the baby sounds good too.

No new symptoms this week, oh well, if you don't count the new Baby Bump. Yes, it's there. I thought maybe it was all the Halloween candy I've been eating, but nope, it's definitely there! I'm lucky enough that I lost 15 pounds just before I got pregnant, so I still have some bigger clothes I can wear before I have to buy maternity ones. All the nurses at work are getting a kick out of my bump and teasing "Dr. Daddy" about me being pregnant (for those of you who didn't know, Derek and I work together at Presbyterian Hospital of Allen).

We also got some mail from my mom and dad (Grom and Poppa Larry) this week! Grom made these precious onesies for the baby...I guess Derek and I will have to keep doing triathlons or these won't make any sense! They say "Future Triathlete" "Go Daddy Go!" and "Mommy and Daddy go FAST FAST" And Grom already knows she'll have to keep making these in bigger sizes as the little one grows! We love them all! Thanks!

We love you and miss you all and thanks so much for all the prayers and well wishes! As soon as we know what's going on for the holidays, we'll let ya'll know!

October 15, 2007

Morning, all! Nothing much to tell this week yet. I made 11 weeks on Wednesday, so I am almost done with my first trimester already! I am feeling much less tired these last couple days. I guess I had no idea how tired I really was until I started feeling more energetic this last week. I started swimming again yesterday, which really made me feel good...maybe CC will be a triathlete like Mom and Dad!
Speaking of CC...no, we don't know why we picked Circus Clown for a name. It's not making fun of him/her, it's just a name Derek and I came up with and it stuck.
We'll keep you posted with any new changes! Love and miss you all!!!

And here she/he is! This is the first picture of Baby LeJeune, taken September 27, 2007.

Since then, we went to Hawaii on vacation to visit Nikki and Shane. We had a really great time and luckily Laurie felt great the whole time! This was when Laurie realized that the baby really likes hamburgers, fries and virgin pina coladas!

This is our first post to keep all of you up on how we're doing! We figured this is the easiest way for all of you to see the (many) changes going on until the big day, May 1st, 2008!

Since this is the first post, we figured we'd might as well give you a "before" picture! This is us and our friend Shannon Watson at the Tri the Rock Sprint Triathlon on August 26, 2007. We had just finished swimming 300 yards, biking 14 miles, and running 3 miles. I had a great race, so go figure, that I found out we were expecting the very next day! Notice the flat stomach...that won't be there much longer!
