I'm Telling You!
Sunday mornings are pretty fun around the LeJeune house. They used to be fairly quiet until just recently when a chatterbox moved in! What do you think she's trying to say???

We've created a monster!
We knew it would happen! We've been trying to teach Emily to blow raspberries. Wouldn't you know she'd get the hang of it with a mouthful of squash?

Adventures in Solids Part 1
First time trying solids! Rice cereal is first. Started out pretty good. She seemed interested, even opened her mouth and followed the spoon around with Mommy. 5 or 6 small spoonfuls, then all of a sudden got very bored and verrrry mad. Tried a couple more spoonfuls a few minutes later, then E wanted her old friend the bottle. We say it was a pretty good attempt for our first time (ALL of us!)

1,2,3....WRESTLE!!!!
4 months old!
4 month old stats: 14lbs 7oz (66th percentile), 23 3/4 inches (30th percentile). Emily is definitely growing, despite being in her cast for 2 weeks. Matter of fact, she doesn't even seem to have been bothered or delayed by the cast at all. We're smiling, sorta laughing, blowing raspberries, and now teething! She is drooling and munching down on just about everything, teething rings, toys, blankets, mommy and daddy's fingers, and her favorite...her own fingers. We've found her in her crib with almost her entire fist in her mouth, happily chomping away. Fun times!

No more cast!!!
Emily got her cast taken off Wednesday, a little over 2 weeks after she had it put on. No tears when she had the cast cut off either! Xrays showed that her femur has completely healed. Woohoo!!!

Broken Leg Update!
Great news! Emily's femur fracture is healing so well that her cast should come off in about a week and a half. Her doctor said it has healed a lot in only a week. She is still doing great and is kicking her legs and monkeying around as if nothing happened. She's also drooling and munching on her hands and everything else, so she is definitely teething!

Saturday out!
Emily has been doing so well these last couple days, I decided to take her to see her first triathlon. Shannon, Andy, Sean and John raced in the Cooper Sprint Triathlon in McKinney this morning. The gang did really well and now Laurie has the itch to start racing again! Emily had a good time being outside before it got too hot, so we left a little early. She's doing really well with the cast and is playing pretty much like she was before. We have a tough little cookie!

Go Shanny Go!!!
No, we didn't buy this dress to match the cast!

Passed a pretty good night last night. After we figured out how to get creative with her pajamas, Emily went to bed for about 8:30. I slept in her room on an air mattress. She woke up around 1:00, ate a little and fell asleep pretty quick. Up again at 6:00 and surprisingly was more bothered by her stuffy nose (which she's had for a few days AND given to me) than her broken leg! She seems to be in a lot less pain with the cast. I'll be home with her for the rest of the week and Grom and Poppa Larry are coming on Monday so that I can go back to work for a couple days. Hopefully E will get the ok to go back to daycare next Thursday when she goes back to the doctor. Thanks for all the phone calls and emails, everybody! Shannon, Andy and the kids: special thanks to you guys. Love ya'll.

First Emergency Room Visit :(
First of all, Emily is ok! Second of all, Laurie and Derek are ok!
Lots of firsts this morning: Emily's 1st trip to the ER, Emily's 1st broken bone, Emily's 1st cast, Laurie and Derek's near-1st nervous breakdown!
Like I just said...Emily is ok!!! We are ok!!!
I got up to feed Emily at 2am this morning. I was holding her on my right hip and she suddenly arched her back and started falling backward. I caught her by the left thigh before she hit the floor head-first (thank God) and heard a small pop. She and I both freaked out and woke Derek up.
Took her to the emergency room and she has a crack in her left thigh bone. She got wrapped up in a splint in the ER and we were home for 4:30am. She slept until 6:30, then woke up in a good bit of pain. Don't know who was taking it worse, Laurie, Derek or Emily.
Took her to a pediatric orthopedist around 10 who put her in a teeny pink cast. She'll have to keep it on for about 4 weeks. She's much more content in the cast, since it keeps her leg pretty still. Thankfully, she has been sleeping most of the day so far and has medicine for her pain.
Definitely not what we had planned, but we're counting our blessings that it wasn't much, much worse. Keep her in your prayers!

Trying out the jumperoo
We decided to put together Emily's jumperoo this weekend. For those of you without infants, a jumperoo is like those old Johnny Jump-ups, where you basically bungee cord your kid to the top of the door frame. Well apparently those aren't so safe anymore, so they've been downsized to a frame with the bungee attached to that. Emily has a lot of growing into this toy, but she's starting to get the "hang" of it! har har
This is NOT fun!!!

Still not too much fun here, guys...

Wait, is that a monkey?

I kinda like monkeys...

Gee, this is not so bad...

Heh, this is kinda cool

Okay, okay, I like my jumperoo!
