First Thanksgiving

Emily's first Thanksgiving was spent with the Lafont's in Louisiana. We flew there on Wednesday night and flew back Friday afternoon so that Daddy didn't get too lonely! He admitted it was hard being separated from his girls. We managed just fine and Emily did really well on the flight. We had a great time at Uncle Mike and Aunt Yvonne's...the gumbo was great! Emily carried on the tradition of wearing PawPaw's cap. It fits perfect!

Where's the turkey??

The girly great-grandkids: Caitlin, Chloe, Emma, Emily and Destiny

Play it, Ringo!

I had been making gumbo all morning and knew Emily liked banging things together, so here's what we get! For those of you making Christmas lists? Spoons and bowls for Emily, please!

Happy Birthday Tyler and Timmy!

We went to West Monroe last weekend to celebrate Tyler's 3rd and Timmy's 2nd birthdays. We had a great time chasing after all the kiddos. 7 kids under the age of four under one roof? Whoa. Good thing the party was outside! Emily had fun playing with all her cousins. (Thanks Missy for taking 99% of these pictures that I stole from Facebook!) Can't believe we all have kids now...

The Birthday Boys!

I'm so happy to be 2!

Excuse me, I'm too busy having fun being 3!

Our newest member of the family, Dylan! (or as I like to call him, "Cheeks")

Bathing in the Big Tub

I can't smile right now, Daddy. I'm busy chewing on my washcloth.

Mirror Monkeys

7 months old!

Here we are, another month passed! There have been so many milestones just in the last week! Crawling, sitting up, the driving-us-crazy-because-she-crawls-and-rolls-over-during-each-and-every-diaper-change-giving-us-the-cutest-full-moon-ever. Seriously, she doesn't stay still anymore. I was worried about how I was going to lose the baby weight. Baby chasing, people. Baby chasing.

This next picture is just saying: HEY WATCHADOIN???

Yeah, I'm done with this.
Look! HAIR!!!

HI MOMMY!!!

Visit from the Lafonts

Uncle Tad and Poppa Larry came out to Texas this past week for some hunting. Uncle Tad got a 13-point trophy buck on Election Day he nicknamed Obama. Way to go! Grom and Emily had some quality time learning how to sit up.

Sitting up!

This has been a week of new discoveries for Emily. Just in the last 4 days she has learned how to sit up unsupported more than 10 seconds and she's learning how to crawl! Mommy hasn't been able to capture the crawling on film yet, since every time I pull the camera out, Emily freezes and smiles, waiting for the pretty flash!

Bowhead

Ohmygawd!!! I'm such a bowhead!

Mommy and Grom are trying to make some headbands. They looked so simple to make, but not so much! Here are the first couple...just took a couple hours to get them right!

First Halloween!

One for the blooper reel

All I was trying to do was get a nice shot of Baby Girl, but instead she found the string to my camera and just starting pulling...

She was on her back, on the opposite side of the crib earlier...

Karate Kid

Forgot to post these the other day! For whatever reason, Emily's daycare wanted to celebrate different cultures of the world. Each class dressed up as different countries (China, Greece, Mexico, etc.) and had a parade in the parking lot of the school. The infant class represented Japan. One of the moms decided to be verrry generous and bought karate outfits for all the kiddos in the class. Hee-ya!!!

Use the Crane Technique, Emily-Son!

6 months old!

Half a year gone! Wow. Emily went for her 6 month checkup. 16 pounds, 6 ounces (55th percentile) and 25 inches long (22nd percentile). No teeth yet, but lots of drool and gummy smiles! As you can see, she can get her toes all the way to her mouth now, so she loves to munch on those and whatever else you put in her hands. Her hair is growing back some, still pretty thick in back, but not thick enough for hair bows again just yet. Mommy's just going to have to be patient! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE TAD!!!
